An apple a day....

On Saturday, my friend Katie, her son Kayden, and I hit the back roads of Southwest Michigan in search of unique locations for pictures. I know I've said this a million times, but we really do live in an awesome part of the state. The places we found were phenomenal for pictures and, as you'll see by the photos, we went for the historical theme. It was actually kind of hard not to roll with that idea because we saw so many amazing old, abandon structures, which made it hard to resist.

We found rustic, worn down barns, an old school house, a little cabin in the middle of no where and even a swampy woods scene. I'm sure each of these places has story in its own and I really need to start striking up conversations with the locals to get the 411 of the places I shoot.

I'm known to just hop in my car and drive and I'd say about 99% of the time, I travel the back roads of this area. I love getting lost and finding new places and I'm amazed that every single time, I find something new.

Katie, give your little man some more big hugs for me. He's a natural in front of the camera (and he even told ME how he wanted to pose for some of the pictures!! Hahaha, that never happens. Possible assistant in the future?? I think so!)
