2011 Hunter Ice Festival

I just love, love, love everything about this festival. The carvings, the food, the wine tasting, the ice cream, getting all bundled up like an eskimo and braving the usually single digit temperatures. It truly turns downtown Niles into a winter wonderland.

This year, the Food Network visited our little city to film a segment for Ice Brigade. I didn't get a chance to see the filming in action, because from what I understand they were in and out pretty quick. But it will still be neat seeing our hometown on national television.

Here are a couple of pics I grabbed while roaming the streets one night. That's my favorite time to shoot these pictures. Less people, and you can see the detail of the sculptures better (although on this evening, it was snowing pretty hard, so it was tough trying to get all the details of the carvings).
