The wedding of Andy + Nikki

I think it's safe to say we're all ready for some warmer weather in Southwest Michigan. And although Saturday's temps reached the 40's, it felt much cooler thanks to the blasting gusts of wind that swept through our little hometown all day long.

Andy and Nikki are my first couple of 2011 and I'm so thankful I was able to take part in their big day. This was also the first wedding - ever - where I was sick. Go figure! I started feeling pretty blah the night before the wedding, and I woke up the day of yelling at my immune system. It wasn't a fun morning and I'm thankful walls cannot talk! But, I somehow managed to make it through the day (with some amazing help from two of my assistants - Kristi and Jessica, of course).

Andy and Nikki were married at Hope Community Church, and their reception was held at the Bell Building. I've said it a thousand times, and I probably say it a thousand more - it's such a relief when everything goes as planned on a wedding day. The atmosphere was very relaxed, everyone was high spirits and everything went as smoothly as the icing on the delicious cake! And oh my, does Nikki's mother, Pam, make some AHHHHHMAZING home cooked food! Everything from mac and cheese and baked beans, to noodles and potato salad. I don't think anyone left the reception with an unsatisfied tummy.

Andy and Nikki - best wishes to both of you on your new life as a married couple and thank you, again, for allowing me to be a small part of your big day.

As you can tell, Nikki chose Pink as her wedding color. And the little brochures on the right were hand made by her. They were so stinkin' cute.

Andy and Nikki have two children together - a boy and a girl - who took on the roles of ring bearer and flower girl. These were little Alixis' shoes. So tiny, so innocent, so adorable.

Along with the color pink, Nikki had little hints of butterflies everywhere, including in her bouquet. On the right, Nikki and her oh-so-cute munchkins.

This is my niece, Autumn. She was part of the wedding, and I just happened to catch her in a moment here.

Typical guy on his cell phone...on his wedding day!!! LOL. But in Andy's defense, I do believe he was calling for help here, because one of the buttons on his tux broke. You're excused this time, groom!

Glad I was able to get a laugh out of them!

I wasn't going to chance taking the ladies outdoors before the ceremony because something tells me I would have gotten the evil eye if they had to walk down the aisle with wind-blown hair. So, I played it say.

The guests attempted to blow bubbles at the newlyweds, but that didn't really work out too well considering the strong winds. The bubbles raced by them at about 20 mph. It was a pretty comical sight.

After the main events were finished, Nikki braved the wind for some outdoor shots. But we were only out there for about 5 minutes tops. Well worth it!
